Privacy & Security Policy

last revised October 22, 2016
effective starting October 24, 2016

Overview

Johnston Healthcare Search is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our visitors and clients. This policy describes the information we may collect and how that information will and will not be used.

Scope

This policy applies to the Web sites JohnstonHealthcareSearch.com and www.JohnstonHealthcareSearch.com.

Information Gathering and Logging

Our Web server automatically logs network (IP) addresses, browser type, dates and times, search terms, and page and file names when our pages are accessed. However, we do not correlate IP addresses to individuals, and visitors remain anonymous unless they choose to identify themselves by other means.

Some of the forms on our Web site may request personally identifiable information (known as PII), which may include name, e-mail address, postal address, phone number, and credit card information. Surveys and questionnaires may also request gender, demographic, and ethnic information. We will only ask for this information for specific purposes and when it is necessary and justified. We do not require personal information from our visitors without a good reason to do so.

We may also record names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and other contact information in conjunction with normal correspondence with clients and visitors for the purposes of maintaining and tracking that correspondence.

Johnston Healthcare Search is a registered subscriber of Google Analytics, which utilizes browser "cookies" to provide Web traffic analysis on its Web site. These cookies are used only to collect anonymous traffic data, and no individually identifiable information is tracked or stored in the cookies. For more information, check Google's privacy statements. All traffic information collected by this service is restricted to use within the company for planning and analysis purposes. Visitors may chose to block these cookies using appropriate options in their browsers.

Use of Information

The Johnston Healthcare Search Web team uses Web access logs and traffic statistics to tailor content and navigational tools to visitors, ensuring our pages work correctly across a broad range of modern browsers, operating systems, and display resolutions. This information may also be used for troubleshooting purposes and other normal server maintenance and security activities by the company's system administrator.

Site visits by individual IP addresses is not disclosed outside the company unless specifically requested by law enforcement agencies investigating a specific abuse of our computer or network resources.

Browser "cookies" are small text files which may be exchanged between Web servers and browsers. Some of our forms and features use such cookies for session management, particularly in areas where user authentication and access controls are implemented. However, all sensitive information, including PII, is kept on the server and is not included in the cookies. These cookies unique to our services and have no meaning or use outside our site. Visitors may choose to configure their browsers to reject cookies, but this may affect their ability to use some features or services on our site. Most modern browsers also allow existing cookies to be deleted at any time.

Personal information is accessible to personnel within Johnston Healthcare Search and the company that maintains this Web site on behalf of Johnston Healthcare Search on a strict need-to-know basis. These individuals are bound by confidentiality agreements. Distributing this information outside these groups is strictly prohibited without the knowledge and permission of the visitor or user. This means we do not sell, rent, trade, or lease any personal information, including e-mail addresses, to outside entities. The only two exceptions are when we collect information on behalf of a related group or association and that fact is clearly stated on the form asking for the information, or when we are legally required to do so by subpoenas, warrant, court orders, or comparable legal processes.

Credit card information is never transmitted via e-mail, FTP, or other insecure transmission methods.

E-mail addresses from subscriptions for newsletters or other electronic mailings are not exposed to other recipients and are not used for any other purpose than that for which the addresses were collected. All such mailings always include an unsubscribe link so recipients can easily remove their addresses from future mailings.

Contact information resulting from correspondence between company personnel and visitors that is not part of an ongoing service relationship will be used solely to maintain that communication. In other words, dropping us an e-mail does not automatically result in your being added to our newsletters or other mailings without your permission.

Survey or questionnaire information, unless clearly stated otherwise on the Web form, is treated as confidential and anonymous. We reserve the right to redact PII that may be included in written comments or responses if we deem its inclusion is inappropriate.

We do not knowingly collect or wish to obtain PII from children without verifiable parental or guardian consent. If we become aware of PII on our server concerning children under the age of 13 without documented and verifiable parental or guardian consent, we will immediately remove that information from our files and databases.

Security

Johnston Healthcare Search and the company that provides its Web hosting services use a wide range of security tools and procedures to monitor the security of its server and protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of data stored on those servers.

All Web pages which request sensitive information, including credit card numbers, PII, and login credentials, transfer that information over encrypted Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connections using a certificate issued by DigiCert, Inc., a registered certificate authority.

For more information, refer to our hosting company's Security Policy or contact our system administrator directly for specific security policies and procedures.
